The creators of the TAC Project welcome comments, suggestions of links, and the sharing of lesson plans and ideas for activities relevant to the interdisciplinary arts classroom. View the ArtsLinks site for lesson plans from the BRIDGES and Pathways Projects.

Please send e-mail to artslinks@umassd.edu or to loribradley@comcast.net

In the future, we plan to develop an e-newsletter that will contain lesson plans, ideas for incorporating Internet and computer graphics technology into the arts classroom, and artwork by students and teachers. If you are interested in receiving an on-line TAC newsletter please send a note to Artslinks.

The goal of the TAC Project is to enable teachers to incorporate Internet technology into interdisciplinary curriculum design. TAC encourages the exploration and creative use of computer technology in ways that are vibrant and expansive.

This project uses a well-established partnership of university and high school educators to deliver a credit-bearing course for pre-service teachers candidates. This course will provide them with hands-on computer technology experience, practice aligning curriculum goals within the state frameworks, and exposure to effective teaching practice.

Objectives of the TAC Project are twofold:

• To educate an ever-growing group of teachers that will be able to conduct workshops in arts and technology for other teachers, and be leaders in their own schools in incorporating creative technology into curricula.

• To develop a component of this Web site that will provide a set of technology-infused, interdisciplinary curriculum units and lessons plans based on visual design principles and concepts. These can be used by teachers worldwide. The lessons will be available in the Project section of this site in May of 2001.

In the meantime, please visit our ArtsLinks companion site for a great collection of interdisciplinary curriculum units from the BRIDGES course, offered by the Southeastern Massachusetts Arts Collaborative (SMARTS) and ArtsLinks at UMass Dartmouth since 1997.
